VELOCHAMPION has today announced an extension to its position as Official Shoe and Cycling Sunglasses Partner of Britain’s most prestigious cycling event, the OVO Energy Tour of Britain.
Launched in 2009 and now in its 10th year, VELOCHAMPION is fast becoming one of the UK’s top cycling brands and has partnered with the national tour for the past three years. Today’s announcements also sees VELOCHAMPION stepping up to sponsor the OVO Energy Women’s Tour – Britain’s flagship international women’s stage race - and the OVO Energy Tour Series for the first time.

Becoming the Official Shoe and Sunglasses Supplier of the Tour of Britain sees an exciting time for VELOCHAMPION with the latest development being their new VC Cyclone Cycling Sunglasses for 2019 – their most technical pair of sunglasses yet.

The OVO Energy Tour Series is a fun, fast and free cycling event that takes place in town and city centres across the UK each May. British sporting heroes Laura Kenny, Dani Rowe, Joanna Rowsell, Ed Clancy, Elinor Barker and Dame Sarah Storey have all competed in the series during its 10-year history, during which time nearly two million fans have watched a round. In 2019 the Grand Final will take place at historic Brooklands in Surrey.
The OVO Energy Women’s Tour (Monday 10 to Saturday 15 June) continues to form part of the UCI’s flagship Women’s WorldTour and attracts the world’s leading teams and riders to British roads. This year’s edition notably features the race’s first hill-top finish, which takes place at Burton Dassett, Warwickshire, on stage four.
Relaunched in 2004, the OVO Energy Tour of Britain boasts a prestigious roll call of former winners including Julian Alaphilippe (2018), Sir Bradley Wiggins (2013) and Edvald Boasson Hagen, 2009 and 2015). The 2019 race route will be unveiled at the national launch in May. Will you be there?
